We first visited Babu Hingmang in 2006 and witnessed first-hand the effectiveness of his home-grown volunteer effort in Nepal.

For over two decades, Babu has been serving vulnerable women & children in isolated regions. With limited resources, he has spent as many as 6 days walking from his home in Kathmandu to deliver assistance to needy families in rural areas. When we asked him why he didn't rent or buy a motorcycle, his answer was simply "I want to give all the money possible to those who need it the most."

Working largely independently, Babu has assembled a care network of dozens of volunteers and churches who look after hundreds of at-risk families throughout the foothills of Himalayas.

Long before the earthquake, Babu Hingmang was going to extraordinary lengths to help the most vulnerable women & children of rural Nepal.
